Privacy
Inspira is a new tab page. It has no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it never sells or shares your data.
What stays on your device
Your tasks, notes, projects and settings are saved in Chrome’s extension storage on this device. The focus timer, your weather location and the last forecast are stored the same way. Nothing leaves your device unless you use one of the features below.
Chrome sync
If Sync with Chrome is on (Settings → Account) and you’re signed in to Chrome with sync turned on, Chrome carries your open tasks, items from the last 60 days, projects and settings to your other computers through your Chrome profile. Inspira has no server; Google handles this like the rest of your Chrome sync data. Turn it off at any time and everything stays on this device.
Calendar link (optional)
If you paste a private iCal link from Google Calendar, Outlook or iCloud, Inspira reads your events from that link to show them next to your tasks. It’s read-only, the link is stored only on this device, and Chrome asks your permission for that one calendar service first. Removing the link removes the permission too. Anyone who has a secret iCal link can read that calendar, so keep it private.
No account, no server
This version has no sign-in and Inspira runs no server of its own. There is no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and nothing is sold or shared. The only network requests are the weather lookups and, if you add one, your calendar link, described here.
Weather
To show the forecast, Inspira sends the city you search for, or your approximate location (rounded to about 100 m) if you choose Use my current location, to Open-Meteo. No account or identifier is sent with it. The place name for your current location comes from your device’s time zone, so no other service sees your location.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, they are created on your device for focus sessions and task reminders. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Your control
- Export everything as a file, or import it again, from Settings → Account.
- Turn off Chrome sync or remove the calendar link there too.
- Removing the extension deletes its local data.
